Rachel Kopera | Multidisciplinary Creative

The Foundation of Color and Legacy Rachel Kopera’s journey into the arts began with a quiet observation: watching her grandmother pick up a paintbrush for the first time at the age of sixty-five. Seeing the joy that vibrant colors brought to her grandmother’s life sparked a lifelong fascination with the power of visual expression. This early inspiration led Rachel to the University of Michigan, where she earned a dual degree in Visual and Performing Arts, honing a style that fuses the spirit of post-impressionism with the energy of modern art.

A Life of Service and Artistry Driven by a call to share this love for the arts, Rachel joined Teach For America in Los Angeles. During her tenure, she founded the Picasso Club—a dedicated collective of young artists who fostered a culture of mutual accountability and creative mentorship. While her career as an educator and a mother flourished, Rachel often returned to the conversations she had with her grandmother about the wish for more time to develop a true body of work.

The Full Circle: A Commitment to Joy Today, Rachel’s work is a testament to intentionality and legacy. Her choice to paint bright, vivid landscapes is deeply personal—the colors are a tribute to the summer days when her late mother, Diane Chapman, was healthy and well. By leaning into this brilliant palette, Rachel lives the vibrant life her mother would have wanted for her, using art to capture the "wonder and awe" of the world.

She has committed herself to the daily practice of making time—to take photos, to paint, to write, and to pursue everything that brings her joy. This is the legacy she lives out: a mission to inspire every child to recognize that they, too, are artists, performers, and capable creators.

The Multidisciplinary Lens Based in Los Angeles, Rachel is an artist, photographer, educator, and SAG actor. Whether she is painting the dramatic landscapes of Mount Washington and Sylvan Lake, Michigan, or capturing a portrait, she treats every session like a cinematic scene. She applies an artist’s eye for composition and an actor's understanding of lighting and emotion before the shutter ever clicks.

Beyond her technical skill, Rachel brings a seasoned "Mom Factor" to her work. As a mother of three and an educator of over 20 years, she possesses the rare patience required to find the genuine smile in a restless child or the hidden magic in a chaotic moment. As her principal once noted, "You like to make magic"—a sentiment that continues to drive her video editing, her work on screen, and her upcoming venture to launch a youth theatre company in Los Angeles.
